During the international break, evertonfc.com will be looking back at some former Everton players and their international exploits...
Li Tie
Position: Midfield
International Apps: 87
International Goals: 5
Club Career: Liaoning, Everton, Sheffield United, Chengdu Blades.
Li Tie initially signed for the Blues on a 12-month loan deal in August 2002 as part of Everton's sponsorship deal with electronics giant Kejian.
Following a string of impressive performances in the 2002/03 season - when he was a regular in the Everton midfield - the Chinese international signed a three-year deal with the Club in the summer of 2003.

Injuries and suspensions severely hampered Li's career at Goodison and he was released by David Moyes after the 2005/06 campaign.
He remained in England, moving to Sheffield United where he again struggled to hold down a place in the first team. He subsequently moved to United's sister club, Chengdu Blades, in his homeland.
Li was a regular member of Chinese squads during his time at Everton, and he has now racked up 87 caps.
The pinnacle of his international career came when he was included in the squad as China made their World Cup debut in 2002 in Japan and South Korea.
Sadly, his side lost all three group games without scoring.
