A price for every pocket

A change to Charlton's matchday pricing structure will mean that fans can pick a price to suit their pocket this season.

Home areas at The Valley will be divided up into three pricing zones for Championship matches - as part of a strategy to ensure that buying a season ticket is the cheapest way to watch the Addicks.

The cheapest adult matchday seats will be in the upper north stand behind the goal and in the adjacent quadrants, costing £20 for the home games against Swansea City and Reading in August.

The most expensive tickets will be in the lower west and the four central blocks of the upper west and east stands, plus the lower north, priced at £30 for the opening matches.

Meanwhile, adults opting for the upper west blocks R, Q, K and J and east blocks A, B, G and H will pay £25 for these two games.

Over 60s and U21s will pay a flat £20 in any seat, while the U18 rate remains £10.

Visiting supporters in the Jimmy Seed Stand will pay £30 adults, £20 over 60s and U21s, and £10 U18s, which is the same as the rates for home fans in the lower north.

The new pricing structure better reflects the range of season-ticket pricing within the stadium and is designed to ensure that season-ticket holders get a better deal than match-by-match purchasers, without increasing the minimum adult price.

However, the prices themselves will vary during the season to reflect the circumstances of the fixture, with the rates for Swansea and Reading at the top end of the scale.

Season tickets remain available in all areas of the ground, but supporters need to buy before August 1st to be in line for a second season completely free of charge if the team is promoted next summer. Click here for details.

By the end of June, the club had already processed applications equivalent to four-fifths of previous holders and expected to improve on that significantly before the start of the 2008/09 campaign.

Adults pay as little as £290 or £12.60 a match in the lower north stand, while the price for U18s is £125 (£5.43 a match) and that for U11s just £99 (£4.30) anywhere in the ground.
