1910: The full-time whistle sounds at the Reebok Stadium and Bolton have all but confirmed their Premier League status with a 2-0 triumph over Sunderland. The only way they can get relegated is if they suffer a heavy defeat at Chelsea next Sunday with both Fulham and Derby winning at Portsmouth and Derby respectively.

1900: It's surely safety sealed for Bolton now as Daryl Murphy heads into his own net to give the hosts a 2-0 lead with just eight minutes remaining.

1820: The second 45 minutes is in play at the Reebok.

1805: Half-time at Bolton and the hosts have a precious 1-0 lead.

1800: A vital goal at the Reebok as El-Hadji Diouf takes the ball down at the far post and sidefoots a superb shot into the roof of the net. Bolton 1 Sunderland 0.

1715: The game is under way at the Reebok. A win for Bolton and they're virtually safe but defeat would leave them in massive trouble given that they travel to Chelsea on the final day.

1705: In the Premier League, just a single point separates the four sides still battling to stay up. Bolton, who host Sunderland shortly, have 33pts alongside Fulham and Reading while Birmingham have 32pts. Fulham are out of the relegation zone for the first time this year after beating Birmingham 2-0 while Reading are third bottom after losing at home to Spurs. The last-day fixtures offer hope for Reading though as they travel to relegated Derby. Birmingham host Blackburn, Fulham are at Portsmouth, who will be contesting the FA Cup final six days later, while Bolton travel to Chelsea. With Villa losing, Everton look good for fifth place and a UEFA Cup spot. The Toffees now just need a point from their final two games.

1700: The end of a day of drama in League One. To recap, Nottingham Forest are promoted with champions Swansea while Bournemouth and Gillingham are relegated alongside Port Vale and Luton. Crewe survive despite their 4-1 home thumping by Oldham. The play-offs will now be Doncaster v Southend and Carlisle v Leeds.

1656: Agony for Bournemouth as their 1-1 draw at Carlisle means they're relegated. Carlisle have missed out on automatic promotion but at least they have the consolation of the play-offs.

1655: It's all over at Craven Cottage and Fulham are out of the relegation zone after they secure a third win in four games by beating Birmingham 2-0. Blues are now second bottom. Wigan are safe after their 2-0 win at Aston Villa.

1654: Full-time at the City Ground and Nottingham Forest are promoted after beating Yeovil 3-2.

1653: Gillingham are relegated after their 2-1 loss at Leeds.

1652: Full-time at Ewood Park and Blackburn have beaten Derby 3-1. Middlesbrough confirm their top-flight status with a 2-0 home win over Portsmouth.

1651: Full-time at Whaddon Road and Cheltenham are safe after their 2-1 win over Doncaster.

1650: All over at Reading, who have lost 1-0 to Spurs.

1649: 6-1 to Inverness against Gretna as Iain Vigurs adds his name to the scoresheet.

1648: Chances at both ends at Brunton Park with Carlisle and Bournemouth chasing a winner.

1647: Tresor Kandol fires Leeds 2-1 in front against Gillingham, whose relegation will be confirmed any minute.

1646: The points are safe for Fulham as Erik Nevland goes clean through, keeps his cool and fires past Taylor. They now lead Birmingham 2-0 and their great escape is very much alive.

1645: In the SPL, Will Haining puts St Mirren 1-0 up over Kilmarnock while Ross Tokely's strike gives Inverness a 5-1 lead over Gretna.

1644: Reading are throwing everyone forward now as they bid to grab an equaliser against Spurs. Dave Kitson and Liam Rosenior both go close.

1643: Crewe pull a goal back through Steve Jones. Oldham now lead 4-1.

1642: More drama at Whaddon Road. There's a third goal and it goes to.... Cheltenham. They now look safe after Paul Connor's goal while Doncaster's hopes of automatic promotion look to have gone up in smoke.

1641: Doncaster strike the post at Cheltenham. Forest are hanging on to the second automatic promotion stop but only by the thickness of the woodwork!

1640: League One champions Swansea go 1-0 up at Brighton through Febian Brandy.

1637: Blackburn go 3-1 up on Derby as Santa Cruz heads home. It's his second goal of the afternoon and 19th Premier League goal of the campaign.

1633: More tension at the City Ground as Yeovil pull a goal back through Andy Kirk to cut Nottingham Forest's lead to 3-2. They're still going up but if Yeovil equalise, Doncaster and Carlisle could both nick second spot.

1631: Another twist in League One as Doncaster equalise at Cheltenham through Paul Green. A winner for Doncaster would send them up at the expense of Nottingham Forest whilst relegating Cheltenham and saving Bournemouth!

1630: Roberts misses a golden chance to extend Blackburn's 2-1 lead over Derby.

1628: Crewe are now 4-0 down against Oldham as Gary McDonald nets for the visitors. And suddenly the Railwaymen are looking at relegation again as Bournemouth grab a crucial equaliser at Carlisle through Brett Pitman. If Bournemouth can grab a winner, Kevin Bond's men survive and Crewe are down.

1627: A fantastic volley from Leeds United's Bradley Johnson makes it 1-1 against Gillingham who now look destined for relegation.

1626: Don Cowie puts Inverness 4-1 up on Gretna.

1625: Reading are finally starting to come back into the game against Spurs and, at only 1-0 down, they could still even win this game despite being battered for much of the contest.

1622: Villa almost level against Wigan as Gareth Barry shaves the post and while they're still cursing their bad luck the visitors go up the other end and go 2-0 up as Valencia, a reported target for Liverpool and Manchester United, bags his second.

1618: Crewe are now 3-0 down as Eardley grabs his second for Oldham. However, other results are going Crewe's way so they should still be okay.

1617: Goal at Brunton Park and it goes to Carlisle. Scott Dobie taps home from close range despite appeals for offside and Bournemouth are heading for relegation. If Forest were to be pegged back from 3-1 up against Yeovil, Carlisle could still earn automatic promotion.

1615: Although Reading are currently in the drop zone, at least they know they're travelling to Derby on the final day. And the way County are defending at Blackburn, you'd have to fancy Coppell's men to take the points. Another gaffe lets in Bentley but he can't cash in.

1612: So how does the bottom of the Premier League look now? The big news is that Fulham have moved out of the relegation zone after taking the lead over Birmingham, who have slipped to second bottom. Reading, who are losing 1-0 to Spurs, occupy the third relegation slot.

1611: Middlesbrough move 2-0 ahead at home to Portsmouth as Tuncay heads home.

1610: A massive goal in the Premier League as Fulham take a vital 1-0 lead over Birmingham through Brian McBride as he heads in Jimmy Bullard's cross. And the deadlock is also broken at Villa Park as Antonio Valencia puts Wigan in front.

1609: It's hard to believe that Spurs are only 1-0 up over Reading as they continue to create chances galore.

1608: Barry Wilson gives Inverness a 3-1 lead over Gretna.

1607: Jason Roberts takes advantage of some shocking defending by Derby's Andy Todd to put Blackburn 2-1 ahead at Ewood Park.

1606: A quick response by Dundee United as Daniel Swanson cuts Aberdeen's lead to 2-1.

1605: Reading don't seem to have responded to Steve Coppell's half-time team talk and Spurs waste two excellent chances at the start of the half to go 2-0 up.

1604: Karim Touzani's strike makes it Aberdeen 2 Dundee United.

1602: The final 45 minutes of the League One and Two seasons are under way while the afternoon's key Premier League action resumes.

1555: The draw is now the favourite in the crunch relegation clash at Craven Cottage in Sky Bet's in-running prices at 11/8, with Fulham 7/5 and Birmingham 13/5. Reading also desperately need something out of their home clash with Spurs but it's not looking good for the Royals who are 5/1 to turn things around and take the three points. Spurs are 1/2 and the draw 13/5. A point could be priceless for Wigan at Aston Villa and that match is 14/5 to remain goalless. Elsewhere Derby are 15/2 to claim a first away win of the season at Blackburn, while Middlesbrough are 1/4 to maintain their advantage at home to Portsmouth.

1550: Half-times around the country continue to drop and here's how we stand. In the Premier League, the live league tables show that Reading have slipped into the bottom three on goal difference as they trail Spurs 1-0 while Fulham and Birmingham are drawing 0-0. Fulham are second bottom as it stands so need to find a winner at Craven Cottage. In League One, Nottingham Forest are on course for automatic promotion. They just need to hang on to their 3-1 lead over Yevoil. But, at the bottom, it remains wide open. Gillingham and Bournemouth are both heading to League Two as it stands but that could easily change. Bournemouth could pull clear if they win at Carlisle (it's currently 0-0) while if Gillingham can hang onto their 1-0 advantage at Leeds they could benefit if Cheltenham blow their 1-0 lead over a Doncaster side still hoping to pip Forest for automatic promotion. Crewe, trailing 2-0 at home to Oldham, are also in desperate trouble and a Bournemouth goal at Carlisle could relegate them.

1548: The prolific Roque Santa Cruz brings Blackburn level at home to Derby after Morten Gamst Pedersen's shot is parried into his path by Roy Carroll.

1547: Half-time at Reading, who trail Spurs 1-0.

1544: Gillingham remain 1-0 in front at Leeds but with Cheltenham winning they're still set to be relegated.

1541: Key goal in the Premier League and it goes to Middlesbrough. The recalled Chris Riggott is the man with the goal to put Boro 1-0 up on Portsmouth and put Gareth Southgate's men on the brink of safety.

1538: It's still all Spurs at the Madejski and it looks a matter of time before they double their 1-0 lead.

1536: Still all square at Craven Cottage. With Fulham and Birmingham drawing, it means Reading - 1-0 down to Spurs - have slipped into the bottom three due to their inferior goal difference.

1535: David Bentley almost levels for Blackburn at home to Derby but his clever chip is tipped over.

1534: Mikael Forssell misses a golden chance for Birmingham at Fulham.

1533: More worries for Crewe as Oldham go 2-0 up at Gresty Road via Neal Eardley. They're okay for now but if Bournemouth went in front at Carlisle, Crewe would slip into the relegation zone.

1532: Keane and Bent continue to tear Reading apart although it's still only 1-0 to Spurs.

1531: Richard Fosters gives Aberdeen a 1-0 lead at home to Dundee United.

1530:Bournemouth need a win at Carlisle to have a chance of staying up and they're all over the Cumbrians in the first half hour although it remains 0-0 at Brunton Park. Across the border and Steven Hogg pulls a goal back for Gretna who now trail Inverness 2-1.

1528: Forest restore their two-goal advantage as Lewis McGugan's free-kick makes it 3-1. As it stands, they're well on course for promotion with Doncaster losing.

1527: Birmingham are now putting Fulham under pressure at Craven Cottage.

1526: Rory McAllister makes it Inverness 2 Gretna 0.

1525: Big goal in League One as Cheltenham take the lead against Doncaster through Steven Gillespie. A win will make Cheltenham safe while Doncaster going behind is excellent news for Forest.

1524: Malbranque finds the net at Reading but is penalised for offside. A big break for the hosts as the call looked incorrect.

1523: Tottenham go close to a second at Reading as Keane's free-kick is well saved by Marcus Hahnemann.

1522: A shock scoreline at Ewood Park where Kenny Miller puts Derby 1-0 up on Blackburn.

1521: Jaime Peters pulls a goal back for Yeovil at Nottingham Forest. Now 2-1 to the hosts and more nail-biting for the City Ground faithful.

1520: Gillingham, fighting for their lives, take a shock 1-0 lead at Elland Road through Simeon Jackson. As it stands they're still in the relegation zone though.

1519: A second goal for Nottingham Forest at the City Ground as Kris Commons makes it 2-0. Can Doncaster respond?

1518: Keane's strike at Reading is the only top flight goal so far from the five 3pm kick-offs.

1516: Goal for Spurs at Reading as Robbie Keane gives the visitors a deserved lead with the outside of his right foot after being set up by Steed Malbranque.

1513: Key goal for Nottingham Forest who take the lead against Yeovil through Julian Bennett. If they win and Doncaster don't, Forest will be promoted to the Championship.

1511: Bent goes close again for Spurs as the visitors make the early running at Reading.

1510: Maik Taylor makes a super save from Simon Davies to keep Birmingham level at Fulham.

1508: Fulham are on the front foot against Birmingham with Brian McBride hitting the crossbar although he had already been flagged offside.

1507: Glen Johnson almost puts Portsmouth 1-0 up at Middlesbrough.

1506: Bent's header gives Reading a scare but it remains 0-0.

1505: Crewe, who need a point to stay in League One, get off to a terrible start as Kenny Lunt's error allows Deane Smalley to put visitors Olham 1-0 up.

1503: Reading have made a bright start at home to Spurs.

1501: A Douglas Imrie goal puts Inverness 1-0 up at home to Gretna.

1500: Today's 3pm kick-offs are under way. There's much to be decided in the top flight and League One and we'll keep you fully informed as the afternoon goes on.

1459: Inverness manager Craig Brewster recalls goalkeeper Zibi Malkowski for

today's clash with Gretna. The on-loan Hibernian player makes only his third start of the season as Michael Fraser drops to the bench. Ian Black and Rory McAllister also come in, with Dennis Wyness and Russell Duncan handed substitute roles. Gretna continue to rotate their starting XI, with Greg Fleming, Rhys Meynell, Brendan McGill and Abdul Osman coming back in.

1451: Striker Mark de Vries returns to the Dundee United line-up for the match at Aberdeen as the Tannadice club look to take full advantage of Motherwell's lunchtime defeat to Celtic. United know victory would see them leapfrog Motherwell andtake possession of the coveted third spot. Manager Craig Levein makes two changes to the team which drew 2-2 with Motherwell last weekend, with De Vries and Danny Swanson returning at the expense of Jon Daly and David Robertson. Aberdeen are without Alan Maybury who has a rib injury and the suspended Zander Diamond. Their absence allows starts for Karim Touzani and Jeffrey de Visscher.

1449: Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov is not in the starting XI for the clash against Reading, the side he had scored against six times previously this season. Berbatov has picked up a groin injury, handing Steve Coppell's men a boost at the Madejski Stadium in their bid for survival. Darren Bent replaces Berbatov, while Tom Huddlestone comes in for Aaron Lennon

- who has a knee complaint. Reading, starting the weekend a point above the relegation zone, are

unchanged. Emerse Fae and Ibrahima Sonko are not in the matchday squad as both are suspended by the club for refusing to play in a reserve game on Monday.

1448: Blackburn boss Mark Hughes is able to name an unchanged side for the fourth

consecutive game as his side seek to wrap up their Ewood Park campaign on a high with victory over relegated Derby. Needing a win to give themselves any chance of beating Sunderland's record-low

Premier League points total, Rams boss Paul Jewell makes three changes from last

week's 6-2 mauling to Arsenal. Strikers Kenny Miller and Robert Earnshaw both return while 19-year-old centre-back Miles Addison is handed his Premier League debut two years after making his last Rams appearance in the Championship.

1445: Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara is rewarded for his heroics last weekend by

starting today's relegation showdown with Birmingham. Kamara inspired the 3-2 victory over Manchester City with two goals during his second-half cameo and ousts David Healy from the starting line-up. Birmingham defender Stephen Kelly passes a late fitness on his knee problem

but Mehdi Nafti fails to recover from a thigh injury. Damien Johnson comes in for Nafti in midfield with the Blues skipper having completed his three-match suspension, the only change to the side that drew 2-2 with Liverpool.

1442: Olof Mellberg shakes off illness to be named at the heart of the Aston Villa

defence for the final time at Villa Park. The Sweden international, who joined the club for £5million from Racing Santander in 2001, leaves for Juventus in the summer but was a midweek doubt to make his last appearance on home soil against the Latics. Wigan are also buoyed by the presence of striker Emile Heskey, who is named up front despite carrying a mild ankle knock, while Emmerson Boyce deputises for Mario Melchiot (groin) at right-back.

1438: The final whistle has sounded at Old Trafford and Manchester United have defeated West Ham 4-1 to go three points clear at the top of the Premier League. If they win their final game next week against Wigan then the title will be theirs.

1436: St Mirren manager Gus McPherson makes just one change from the side which defeated Falkirk last weekend for the visit of Kilmarnock.

Franco Miranda is drafted into midfield in place of Ryan McCay, while Ian Maxwell and David Van Zanten remain on the sidelines and Hugh Murray was suspended.

Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies hands a recall to midfielder Allan Johnston in place of striker Paul Dalglish as he adopts a 4-5-1 formation.

Versatile defender Grant Murray comes into the side for Tim Clancy, who may miss the remainder of the season through injury.

1430: Middlesbrough defender Chris Riggott is thrown straight into the battle for Premier League survival after being recalled from his loan spell at Stoke.Riggott, who had been expecting to play for the Potters as they attempt to secure promotion to the top flight tomorrow, returned to the Riverside Stadium yesterday and is included in the starting line-up for this afternoon's clash with Portsmouth.

Andrew Taylor makes way along with goalkeeper Brad Jones and midfielder Lee Cattermole as Mark Schwarzer returns from injury and Fabio Rochemback got the nod.

FA Cup finalists Portsmouth make four changes to the side which lost at home to Blackburn last time out as Hermann Hreidarsson, Arnold Mvuemba, Niko Kranjcar and Milan Baros replace Lauren, Sulley Muntari, John Utaka and Kanu.

1422: It's all over at Fir Park and Celtic have gone eight points clear at the top with a 2-1 win over Motherwell. Second-placed Rangers play tomorrow and have four games in hand.

1405: Georgios Samaras has struck late on to give Celtic a 2-1 lead over Motherwell at Fir Park.

1404: At Old Trafford Michael Carrick's deflected strike has found the net and Manchester United now lead 4-1.

1348: Two goals in two minutes at Fir Park means it's 1-1 between Motherwell and Celtic. Chris Porter struck first for the hosts on the hour mark but Scott McDonald has quickly equalised.

1335: Man Utd lead West Ham 3-1 at the break but they have been reduced to ten men after Nani saw red for a headbutt on Lucas Neill.

1320: It's half-time at Fir Park and so far Motherwell and Celtic have served up an ugly match with no real excitement to reflect on.

1319: West Ham have pulled one back for West Ham, with a fine overhead kick from inside the box.

1314: Carlos Tevez has smashed home a stunning shot from outside the area to put Manchester United into a 3-0 lead over the hapless Hammers.

1311: It's now 2-0 in Manchester United's favour as Ronaldo strikes again - this time with his stomoach!

1251: At Old Trafford Cristiano Ronlado cuts inside from the right flank, drives into the box and, as West Ham back away, he hits a shot which deflects off George McCartney and past Robert Green. It's 1-0 to Manchester United.

1235: Sir Alex Ferguson takes no chances with Wayne Rooney as the Manchester United striker is not even considered for a place on the bench against West Ham this afternoon.

Rooney has been troubled by a hip injury and, like Nemanja Vidic, is left out as Ferguson sticks with the same starting line-up which sealed the famous win over Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final.

Victory for United, coupled with a defeat for Chelsea at Newcastle on Monday, would be enough to clinch the title and West Ham, with 13 players injured, including Freddie Ljungberg, are not expected to put up much resistance.

1230: Celtic skipper Stephen McManus has failed a fitness test on his calf ahead of today's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Motherwell at Fir Park.

The Scotland international picked up the injury in the Old Firm victory last week and his place is taken by Bobo Balde, who made only his fourth start of the season.

Motherwell skipper Paul Quinn misses out with a broken jaw sustained in a nightclub incident last weekend. The full-back's place is taken by Brian McLean, one of five changes to the home side.

Keeper Luke Daniels, on loan from West Brom, makes his debut in place of Graeme Smith. Stephen Hughes is replaced by Keith Lasley, Simon Lappin is dropped for Marc Fitzpatrick and Darren Smith comes in for Ross McCormack.
