2148: Full-time at Exeter, and Aldershot have held on for the point that secures their promotion back into the Football League as Blue Square Premier champions.

2144: Torquay have beaten Northwich, but Aldershot are level 1-1 at Exeter which will be enough to confirm their promotion. But they're still playing at Exeter, with time remaining for late drama...

2140: MK Dons draw 0-0 with Hereford, effectively securing their promotion to League One.

2140: Huddersfield have won the West Yorkshire derby against Leeds, although the damage to the visitors' play-off hopes could've been worse - pursuers Walsall have gone down 1-0 to Bristol Rovers. And that result confirms Nottingham Forest's play-off spot and almost ensures Southend will be there - they lead Walsall by nine points with three games to go.

2139: West Brom are two points clear at the top after completing a 1-0 victory at Wolves. Their goal difference is worth another point as well, and they look big favourites now to clinch one of the two automatic promotion spots.

2138: MK Dons have a huge penalty appeal turned down as they keep looking for the winning goal. But nothing given and it looks like being a gerat result for Hereford in their chase for the final automatic promotion spot, while MK Dons are promoted in all but name.

2136: Seyi George Olofinjana almost gets his foot to the ball at Molineux, but it runs through to Kiely and surely West Brom have done enough.

2135: Wolves just can't find the final touch for an equaliser against West Brom. The final whistle goes at Oakwell where Hull have taken a huge stride towards promotion with victory over Barnsley. They're into the automatic promotion spots on goal difference from Stoke.

2134: GOAL - BARNSLEY 1 HULL 3 Barnsley do get their consolation goal as Istvan Ferenczi dives in to head home Michael Coulson's cross. But we're deep into injury time in this game and the points are safe.

2133: West Brom are just being forced to work for the points at Molineux as Wolves strive for an equaliser. Meanwhile, Barnsley go close at Oakwell but it would have been mere consolation.

2131: Huddersfield miss the chance for a second goal to secure the points against Leeds, but they still lead 1-0.

2130: Leeds have given Walsall the chance to cut the gap in the chase for play-off football tonight, but at the moment it's not been taken. Walsall still trail 1-0 to Bristol Rovers with just a few minutes remaining.

2129: The MK Dons have done everything but score against Hereford as they strive for the winner that will confirm their promotion. But, in truth, a draw will leave them only a mathematical miracle away from promotion. They'll be 12 points clear of fourth-placed Stockport - who have four games to play - and with a vastly superiour goal difference. Funny old game, though.

2128: West Brom still lead 1-0 at Wolves and look more likely to add to the lead than lose it. They're going to be top of the table tonight and, barring late drama, two points clear of Hull and Stoke.

2125: GOAL - BARNSLEY 0 HULL 3 Dean Windass comes off the bench and, less than 30 seconds later, gets on the end of Campbell's flick to drill a shot under Steele and into the back of the net. Game over, and Hull are going to join West Brom in the automatic promotion spots tonight. Stoke, who started the night top of the pile, will slip to third.

2122: That Huddersfield goal should offer encouragement to Walsall, who are looking to close the gap on Leeds. But they still trail Bristol Rovers 1-0, and are vulnerable on the break as they pour forward. Could be late drama in that game.

2120: GOAL - HUDDERSFIELD 1 LEEDS 0 It had been coming, and Leeds might need some of those 15 points back to secure their play-off spot. Andy Holdsworth gets the goal for the home side at the Galpharm.

2119: Substitute Daniel Nardiello misses a chance to reduce Barnsley's deficit against Hull, his shot deflected wide for a corner. He gets his head to the corner as well, but sends it over the bar.

2118: Huddersfield still playing the better football in the 10-a-side clash at the Galpharm, but Leeds are still on course for a point to boost their play-off hopes.

2116: GOAL - ROCHDALE 3 BARNET 0 The points are staying at Spotland as Kallum Higginbotham adds a third goal. This result will put Rochdale eight points clear of Chesterfield in eighth and all but certain of their play-off spot.

2115: MK Dons are beginning to turn the screw as they chase a promotion-sealing victory over Hereford. It's still goalless, but only a goalline clearance from Mark Wright's header keeps it that way.

2110: Dean Kiely makes a fine save to preserve West Brom's 1-0 lead against Wolves.

2105: Hull appeal for a penalty as Folan is bundled over. Nothing's given, and it was outside the box in any case. Clear foul, though, and Hull are furious.

2104: Hull still going all out for a third goal at Oakwell, where they lead 2-0. Half an hour to go in tonight's games.

2103: GOAL - WOLVES 0 WEST BROM 1 Now West Brom do have the lead. Phillips the provider this time, bringing the ball down beautifully and squaring it for Gera who slides the ball past Hennessey. As it stands, West Brom are going two points clear of Hull and Stoke at the top of the table.

2102: Phillips hits the post at the end of a cracking passing move from West Brom at Molineux. Still goalless, but that would be enough to take the Baggies top. For now.

2101: MK Dons haven't been at their best tonight, but a point almost guarantees their promotion and they're getting that at the moment. It's still goalless against Hereford.

2100: Huddersfield have a penalty claim turned down after Lubomir Michalik blocks a header after a corner. Huddersfield hit the bar minutes before that and look the more likely scorers in the opening minutes of the second half.

2059: Another chance for Hull as Folan hits the bar from a tight angle. They want a third.

2058: Hull enjoying themselves in the rain at the moment, and Caleb Folan almost lays on another scoring chance for Campbell. The away fans are in great voice, singing "We're going up, we're going up". They've got the momentum.

2056: Almost the opening goal at Molineux, where Michael Gray's half-volley just fails to find the target.

2055: It's opening up at the Galpharm with both sides a man down, but neither side has managed to capitalise as yet.

2054: GOAL - BARNSLEY 0 HULL 2 Are Hull heading for the Premier League? Captain Ian Ashbee bullets a header past Steele from a corner to double the Tigers' lead.

2053: The first goal of the secondhalf comes at Spotland, where Rochdale double their lead over Barnet and set themselves up surely for a play-off place. Rene Howe is the man to get the decisive touch in a fine flowing move.

2037: Scott Donnelly has equalised for Aldershot at Exeter. It's 1-1 there now, a result that would be good enough to see Aldershot back in the Football League.

2035: No goals but two red cards in the first half at the Galpharm. Huddersfield's players are furious at Worthington's dismissal just minutes before the break.

2034: Half-time at Molineux as well, where it's still goalless. As it stands, there are three teams level at the top of the Championship on 72 points. Stoke are the team missing out on goal difference behind West Brom and Hull.

2033: So far so good at Oakwell for Hull, who lead Barnsley 1-0 through Marney's penalty. But the home side have had the bulk of the possession and are far from out of it.

2032: It's 10 v 10 now at the Galpharm, where Jonathan Worthington has been dismissed for a foul on the Leeds keeper, Casper Ankergren. With Jonathen Douglas the first man given marching orders, Jonathan Howson best be careful in the second half.

2031: Another chance for West Brom at Molineux. Neil Clement plays the ball in from deep, and Phillips heads it down for Robinson who slices wide.

2030: A;dershot's promotion party might have to wait: they trail at Exeter and Torquay lead Northwich.

2030: Hereford are coming into the game more and more at Milton Keynes, where the Dons look a little nervy but are just about doing enough.

2029: Paul Robinson goes for goal from a free-kick for West Brom, but Wayne Hennessey makes the save.

2028: Quick break from Barnsley in the rain at Oakwell, but Robert Kuzluk can't get a cross or a shot in from the left side of the penalty area. The rain is now hail in South Yorkshire, and it's absolutely pelting down.

2027: Chris Zebroski has given Torquay the lead against Northwich. But Aldershot are still goalless against Exeter which will be enough to seal promotion whatever Torquay do.

2026: Bristol Rovers may be doing Leeds a favour, but they're not helping themselves. Jonathan Douglas has been sent off for two bookable offences.

2025: WALSALL 0 BRISTOL ROVERS 1 A massive goal in League One, and the Leeds fans will be cheering almost as loudly as the Rovers fans after Richard Lambert's clever header gives Clayton Ince no chance.

2024: West Brom again have to scramble the ball clear at Molineux, while Kayode Odejayi slices a shot well wide at Oakwell.

2021: Hereford have the ball in the net at Milton Keynes, but Gary Hooper is yards offside.

2019: GOAL - ROCHDALE 1 BARNET 0 Rochdale boost their play-off hopes with the opening goal against Barnet. They've won their last five at Spotland and Adam Le Fondre has slid in to potentially set them on their way to another.

2017: And another scramble at Molineux as well. West Brom survive on this occasion, and immediately break and have a chance of their own through Miller. It comes to nothing and it's still goalless, but it's a cracking local derby with plenty riding on it.

2015: A goalmouth scramble at the Hull end, but they manage to scramble the ball away eventually, amid calls for handball, fouls and anything else going. Still 1-0 to Hull, but they are living dangerously.

2013: Leeds still having the better of possession and the chances at Huddersfield, Neil Kilkenny the latest to go close, but it's still goalless. MK Dons have been in charge against Hereford but still wait for a breakthrough.

2011: Macken fires in a 25-yard strike, but Boaz Myhill is safely behind it and makes the save. Still 1-0 to Hull at Barnsley.

2009: GOAL - BARNSLEY 0 HULL 1 Dean Marney makes no mistake, sending Steele the wrong way. Hull, as things stand, are in an automatic promotion spot.

2008: Penalty at Oakwell, and it's gone to the visitors. Dennis Souza dives in recklessly on Fraizer Campbell, and it's a clear spot-kick. Campebll's pace was crucial there, but it was a silly, unnecessary challenge.

2005: GOAL - GRIMSBY 0 WYCOMBE 1 The first big goal of the night, as Sergio Torres gives Wycombe the lead at Grimsby. Victory there would almost secure a play-off spot.

2005: Barnsley are well on top at Oakwell at the moment, stroking the ball around nicelyand Hull are struggling to get hold of the ball.

2003: West Brom on top at the moment, and Wolves look shaky at their back. They fail to clear their lines, giving Ishmael Miller a chance. His shot across goal is parried, and Phillips arrives at the back post but can't control his header. Goal-kick.

2001: Chance for the Baggies at Molineux, but Kevin Phillips can't quite get his outstretched foot to Zoltan Gera's whipped free-kick.

1959: Little to report from the Grimsby v Wycombe clash, where it remains goalless. The Championship derby between Wolves and West Brom is rather livelier, with chance at both ends but as yet no goals.

1957: Rochdale look the brighter against Barnet, but haven't been able to force a breakthrough yet.

1955: Good chance at Huddersfield, where Chris Brandon scuffs his shot and Leeds escape. Still goalless in all the night's key games.

1953: Scrappy start at Milton Keynes, where Hereford are the visitors. Victory for the Dons, remember, will secure promotion.

1951: Leeds, looking to boost their play-off hopes in League One, have made a bright start at Huddersfield but it's still goalless.

1950: Jon Macken tries to bend one from 25 yards, but just doesn't get enough curl on the ball and it sails wide. Still Barnsley 0 Hull 0.

1949: Lively start at Molineux for the West Midlands derby between Wolves and West Brom. Still goalless, but the atmosphere is bubbling.

1946: Hull almost take the lead in the first minute as a back header from Lewin Nyatanga wrongfoots Luke Steele. The ball is trickling towards goal before Stephen Foster gets across to clear the danger.

1945: And we're under way in the night's games around the country.

    Tonight's Ups And Downs:

  • In the Championship, nothing can be finalised at the increasingly congested top end of the table. West Brom will go back to the top if they avoid defeat against Wolves, who can boost their own play-off hopes with victory tonight. But, unless that victory is by eight or more goals, they won't crack the top six just yet. They will, however, still have a game in hand on all the teams above them.

Should West Brom slip up, Hull can go top for the first time this season with three points at Barnsley. The Tykes need the points for different reasons; a victory would lift them seven points clear of the drop zone with three games to go, and surely secure another year in the second tier.

  • In League One, two teams who look safe in mid-table face sides still chasing promotion. Should Leeds get a better result at Huddersfield than Walsall manage against Bristol Rovers, the play-off line-up will start to look pretty complete. Leeds currently occupy the final play-off spot, and lead Walsall by four points.

Of course, the decision of this week's independent tribunal could yet alter the landscape by giving Leeds some of their 15 points back.

At the bottom of the table, Rovers are surely safe already. They are five points clear of the drop zone and will still have a game in hand on all their rivals after tonight's game.

  • In League Two, the champagne's on ice ahead of the MK Dons' clash with Hereford. Victory will secure promotion for the Dons, but the visitors - who currently occupy the last automatic promotion spot - also want the points from their game in hand on pursuers Stockport, who trail only on goal difference.

Play-off hopefuls Rochdale and Wycombe will both want points from their game in hand on Chesterfield - the only side that can deny them a spot in the end-of-season fun and games. Wycombe'sneed is the greater (they are currently three points behind Rochdale and two clear of the Spireites) but both teams will be confident of victory as they take on mid-table opposition tonight. Rochdale host Barnet, while Wycombe travel to Grimsby.

  • Aldershot's return to the Football League will be confirmed if they get a point against Exeter, or if Torquay fail to beat Northwich, who are still scrapping for points in the fight against relegation.
